Jabez Therapeutic Program
Here at The Old Frontier Equestrian Center, our goal aims to increase our client’s quality of life through session and programs offered with the Jabez Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program. Horses are special creatures that can help people of all ages with mental and physical disabilities by providing immediate feedback through direct responses to riders’ emotions and behaviors. Therapeutic horseback riding is a type of therapy that few people get to experience, but no one forgets. Jabez Therapeutic Riding will help improve the lives of so many more than just the clients who participate. Clients who use therapeutic riding have shown improvements in social, emotional, and some physical aspects. Riding the horse can improve balance, muscle control, and strength, while grooming and bathing helps with fine motor skills. Learning to follow orders from instructors helps with social skills, and being able to control the expression of emotions based off a horse’s reaction can greatly benefit a client.
